PROFESSIONAL BURNOUT SYNDROME AS A PROBLEM OF MODERN PSYCHOLOGY

Abstract

The article substantiates the relevance of burnout research as a long-term stress response that occurs as a result of a medium intensity chronic occupational stress on a person.

The definition "Professional Burnout Syndrome" is discussed and historical dimension of data is analyzed.

The negative impact of Professional Burnout Syndrome on any individual is analized, it finds its expression in low spirits, lack of job satisfaction, subjective feeling of emotional and energetic emptying and the constant presence of tension.

The modern model of personality burnout in the contemporary scientific literature  is defined and characterized into four types: procedural, dynamic, one-, two-, three- and four-factor model.

It is noted that vulnerable people who work in "man-man" combination, eg. doctors, lawyers, social workers, psychiatrists, psychologists, teachers, etc., as well as some representatives of certain professions who have power over others are affected by the burnout the most.

Exercise, fresh air, full sleep, well-planned schedule of the day, meditation and authotherapy, essential day off work, setting priorities in daily activities, etc., are stated as preventive means to stop the burnout.
