Abstract

War is an extremely powerful stressogenic factor that significantly negatively affects the psychological state and professional effectiveness of specialists in psychological and pedagogical professions, such as psychologists, educators, and social workers. This article highlights conceptual approaches to monitoring the psychological consequences of war stress and proposes practical solutions to provide effective support for professionals.
Theoretical models underlying monitoring systems, including systemic, ecological, and biopsychosocial approaches, are analyzed. Methodological aspects of monitoring are presented, emphasizing objectivity, systematicity, comprehensiveness, prognostic value, and corrective orientation. The use of integrated diagnostic tools, such as psychometric questionnaires, express self-assessment methods, as well as physiological and qualitative research methods, is substantiated.
The article also outlines the main negative consequences of war stress for professionals, including emotional burnout, reduced cognitive flexibility, increased levels of depression, anxiety, and secondary traumatization. A two-tier monitoring model with regular tracking of specialists’ conditions is proposed, allowing for the prevention of negative outcomes and timely corrections.
The findings underline the necessity of systematic monitoring as a key tool for supporting psychological and pedagogical professionals during wartime and post-war recovery.
