POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER: DIAGNOSTIC FEATURES AND EXPRESSION OF THE ANTITERRORIST OPERATION PARTICIPANTS
Abstract
The article presents the main results of the research project of the National Defence University of Ukraine named after Ivan Chernyakhovsky, which aim was to verify techniques` psychometric characteristics for the diagnosis of PTSD symptoms and its features analysis among soldiers - members of the antiterrorist operation. The study demonstrated the basic psychometric characteristics (validity and reliability) of the two most common methods for the diagnosis of PTSD: Mississippi Scale for Combat-Related Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and the scale assessing the Impact of Event Scale-R. It is concluded the sufficient high psychometric characteristics (validity, reliability) selected psychodiagnostic techniques in the ukrainian society. Also the features of PTSD among military combatants in eastern Ukraine were studied in details. Estimated proportion of persons with varying degrees of destructive manifestation of symptoms (symptoms of PTSD). The degree of representation and expression of specific symptoms of PTSD and their factorial structure were analyzed in details. The interconnection of specific symptoms of PTSD with the intensity of the combat actions and depressive symptomatic was studied.
