The definitions of creation in a wide and narrow sense are analyzed: the creation of nature and the creation of man. In particular, attention is focused on such a system-forming component of creative thinking as achieving a new result by eliminating the existing contradiction in the current information structure. We consider such a function of mental activity as information control of environment, which helps to optimize strategies for operating with internal mental representations. The definition of creative thinking is formulated in the context of KARUS conception. The characteristic of external and internal conditions for a creative task solving as a process of building the desired information structure is given. The levels of a creative task solving are considered, depending on the novelty for the one who solves it. The analysis of the senior pupils’ creative thinking manifestations in heuristic tasks solving is carried out. The diagnostic potential of such indicators as constructive perfection, constructive expediency, originality and polyvariability in the process of studying the senior pupils’ creative thinking manifestations in heuristic tasks solving is shown. It is found, that the effectiveness of the scientific and technical activities of senior pupils depends on their psychological readiness to solve creative problems, in particular, on an adequate structural and functional analysis of information in the process of constructing the desired structure; to the implementation of elements of strategies and tactics for constructing information systems at different stages of a creative task solving: studying its conditions, developing a concept, and materializing it.
