DISTANCE LEARNING COURSE “THEORY OF PROBABILITIES AND MATHEMATICAL STATISTICS”
Abstract
In the article, presented is a distance learning course on the theory of probabilities and mathematical statistics developed for undergraduate and postgraduate students of departments of physics and mathematics in teachers training colleges. The online course is intended as a support resource both for on-campus and correspondence instruction. The content of the course is consistent with the method teaching of the theory of probabilities and mathematical statistics in the higher schools. The final exam is to be passed by the student personally in the college.
The evidence is given that the process of designing an online system requires consideration of psychological and pedagogical specificity of the online communication. Peculiarities of the students' learning activity management in the distance learning course include shift of the highlights to independent learning, change of the ways of interaction between subjects of learning etc.
