Abstract


The article is devoted to problems of educational self-efficacy of adults, which is a predictor of success in various spheres of human life.

The article presents the results of the diagnosis of representations of various categories of adults concerning the efficiency of own educational activities and the resources that provide it. A comparative analysis of vital meanings of learning (education) of adults, external and internal factors influencing the educational effectiveness of the individual is carried out. Psychological qualities, educational competencies that ensure success were analyzed, as well as barriers (negative mindset, irrational judgments) that impede learning. It was investigated which psychological tools of self-motivation and self-support adults use in situations of educational uncertainty, stress; the presence of successful educational experience, confidence in own educational competencies; the ability to navigate the educational space, etc.

The article presents the results of content analysis of the essay, which showed the ability of adults to reflect on their own changes in the learning process. The rating of significant events in the psychological time of an adult is analyzed, the special significance of which is devoted to events related to education. The significance of the obtained results for the further study of the problem of educational self-efficacy, which promotes self-development and self-perfection of the personality, is emphasized.
