Abstract


The article is attempts to summarize the scientific achievements of scientists on the development of professional identity, the author presents own view on the nature of the professional identity phenomenon and the model of its development for the students of vocational schools.

Professional identity is taken in consideration as a dynamic psychological formation, which is based on professional choice, psychological readiness to selected professional activities, conscious of belonging to a profession and the professional community, professional training, confirmed by a diploma.

The author's model presents the structure of professional identity, components, factors, levels, stages of development, which have been the subject of scientific research.

The article analyses various aspects of the study of professional identity and stages of its development.
